Senior Manager, Advanced Hardware Compute

Role Summary

Lead an electrical engineering team that designs embedded compute solutions for vehicle management, DSP, and networking. Responsible for end-to-end hardware development (requirements, schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up, test, and integration) and for improving FPGA/HDL and hardware workflows to scale solutions across the company.

Senior - requires 7+ years of relevant hardware design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include leading engineering efforts to deliver embedded compute platforms and ensuring schedules, design quality, and cross-team integration.

  • Lead an EE team to deliver embedded compute solutions for vehicle management, DSP, and networking.
  • Own full PCB development cycle for host boards targeting FPGAs/SoCs/SoMs: requirements, schematics, board layout, bring-up, test, and integration.
  • Define and improve FPGA/HDL design workflows: architecture, simulation, system testing, and HDL library standardization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create a scalable rollout strategy for compute solutions across the company.
  • Create and maintain detailed product development schedules and communicate task ownership and deadlines.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and clearances required to perform the role.

  • 7+ years designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs in military, automotive, or similar hardware domains.
  • Experience leading an electrical engineering team focused on digital design.
  • Proficiency in an HDL language (VHDL or Verilog).
  • Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, and FPGA devices and system-on-module (SoM) technologies.
  • Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, and USB.
  • Experience with design for signal integrity and power integrity.
  • Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and circuit design.
  • Competence with lab and test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current probes) and test automation.
  • Proficient with Altium Designer or equivalent EDA tools.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Familiarity with DO-254, DO-178C, DO-160, DO-311A processes.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461 standards.
  • Expertise in computer networking and implementing enhanced security measures.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
