Senior Logical Design Engineer
FractileJob Title
Senior Logical Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the digital design team to develop and optimise RTL for high-performance, power-efficient chips targeting very high-throughput AI inference. You will own RTL modules from specification through delivery and work closely with verification and physical-design teams to enable successful tapeout.
This role is hands-on and cross-functional; some candidates may require additional eligibility checks due to UK, US and other international export control regulations.
Experience Level
Senior-level — 6+ years of experience in digital design, RTL development, or related roles.
Responsibilities
Deliver RTL designs and ensure they integrate correctly into the wider system.
- Develop and maintain clear RTL specifications and module interfaces.
- Implement complex design modules with focus on performance, power, and area.
- Plan, partition and own discrete design work packages from definition to delivery.
- Collaborate with verification engineers on simulation and formal verification to ensure functional correctness.
- Work with physical design and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Document design methodologies, interfaces, and maintain coding standards and best practices.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required; concise and pragmatic.
- 6+ years of experience in digital design or RTL development for high-performance systems.
- Proven track record delivering RTL for high-performance and power-sensitive designs.
- Familiarity with advanced digital design concepts such as pipelining, clock-domain crossing, and power gating.
- Experience with high-speed or low-power design methodologies.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
