Job Title
Senior Logic Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead design and delivery of FPGA/CPLD logic for DGX data center products. The role reports to the DGX FPGA Logic Team and is responsible for micro-architecture, RTL implementation, synthesis, timing closure, and supporting verification, system bring-up, and lab validation.
Work spans design, implementation, and system-level debug in collaboration with architecture, firmware, verification, validation, and operations teams.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5+ years of relevant FPGA/CPLD and/or ASIC design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include end-to-end FPGA/CPLD development, verification support, and system integration.
- Architect, design, and implement FPGA/CPLD modules and subsystems.
- Collaborate with system architects to define requirements and meet design targets.
- Write high-quality RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog), perform synthesis, and drive timing closure.
- Prepare design documentation, participate in schematic reviews, and support prototyping.
- Work with verification and formal teams to validate designs; support system-level validation and lab debug.
- Lead system bring-up locally and at partner sites; perform measurements and in-system testing.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team processes and automation.
- Travel up to 20% for bring-up and collaboration.
Requirements
Concise list of must-have skills and notable additional qualifications.
-
Must-have: 5+ years of FPGA/CPLD and/or ASIC design experience with strong Verilog/SystemVerilog skills and hands-on RTL development.
-
Must-have: Practical knowledge of the FPGA/ASIC development flow: verification, logic synthesis, timing analysis, prototyping, DFT, and lab bring-up/debug.
-
Must-have: Strong communication skills and experience mentoring junior engineers; effective cross-functional collaboration with firmware, software, AE, and operations teams.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with FPGA EDA tools (Xilinx Vivado, Intel/Altera Quartus, Lattice Diamond) and platform-level design (board design, SI, schematics/layout familiarity).
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with protocols (I2C, SPI, JTAG, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, encryption) and scripting/embedded languages (C, Python, Perl).
-
Other: Willingness and ability to travel up to ~20%.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience.
