Senior Lead Engineer - Camera IP Verification
Role Summary
Lead IP-level verification for Qualcomm Spectra camera subsystems, focusing on module and subsystem functional and regression verification for next-generation products. Own verification activities end-to-end and drive coverage closure and RTL debug.
Collaborate with IP verification, design, firmware/emulation, and system leads to implement verification plans, debug issues, and deliver maintainable testbenches and coverage metrics.
Experience Level
Senior. Minimum experience guidance per academic level: Bachelor's +3 years, Master's +2 years, PhD +1 year in ASIC design/verification or related work.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for this role include:
- Develop and execute IP and subsystem verification plans for camera signal-processing modules.
- Implement and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, assertions, and coverage models.
- Perform RTL debug, root-cause analysis, and drive fixes with design teams.
- Close functional and code coverage gaps and produce verification metrics and reports.
- Integrate firmware/emulation flows and collaborate with system teams for validation.
- Automate verification tasks using scripting and maintain verification infrastructure.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical skills and experience.
- Must-have: Experience in RTL design verification using SystemVerilog and UVM with industry-standard simulators (explicitly called out as mandatory).
- Must-have: Strong RTL debug skills and experience with coverage closure.
- Must-have: Experience with assertions-based verification and use of DPI.
- Must-have: Proficiency with scripting languages such as Perl or Python for automation.
- Preferred: Experience with power-aware simulation techniques.
- Preferred: Prior camera IP verification experience.
- Preferred: Familiarity with firmware/emulation flows (example: Veloce) and gate-level simulation (GLS).
- Preferred: Familiarity with bus protocols such as AHB and AXI and ARM-based system architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong verification aptitude.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of ASIC/verification experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of ASIC/verification experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field with 1+ year of ASIC/verification experience. Related technical fields acceptable as stated.
