Role Summary

Senior Layout Engineer on the Power and Signal Conversion Business Group responsible for transistor-level analog and mixed-signal IC layout. The role combines hands-on layout design, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration with process, packaging, and IP teams.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5+ years of relevant Analog/Mixed-Signal layout experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include detailed layout design, project management of layout work, and mentoring contract/junior resources.

• Design layouts for transistor-level analog and mixed-signal circuit blocks and subsystems.
• Manage layout project queue and timelines across the business group.
• Guide, mentor, and supervise contract and junior layout engineers.
• Produce detailed documentation and collaborate with design, layout, and process teams.
• Interface with process, packaging, and IP stakeholders to influence product development.
• Participate in product definition and contribute to new design ideas; support IP protection (patents/trade secrets).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools experience, and professional behaviours. Items marked as "optional" are nice-to-have.

• Must-have: 5+ years of Analog/Mixed-Signal layout experience on core IPs (amplifiers, data converters, LDOs, digital filters, transceivers).
• Must-have: Experience with layout tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and Virtuoso-XL.
• Must-have: Experience with post-layout parasitic extraction tools (e.g., Calibre, Assura).
• Must-have: Strong layout design concepts and familiarity with analog circuits; knowledge of semiconductor processes and packaging.
• Must-have: Ability to mentor junior engineers, manage work assignments, and meet project timelines; strong verbal and written communication.
• Optional / Nice-to-have: Pcell development, SKILL programming, PDK maintenance.
• Optional / Nice-to-have: Experience with digital place-and-route.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
