Senior Layout Engineer
Role Summary
Work on layout, margining, characterization, verification and release of memory (SRAM) instances within Arm's Physical IP Division. The team develops high-speed, low-power memory IP for advanced process nodes used across SoC applications.
Experience Level
Senior - the posting requests 2–5 years of experience in memory design or characterization.
Responsibilities
The role covers physical memory instance development from design to release and automation of verification flows.
- Perform layout, margining, characterization, verification and release of SRAM and register-file instances.
- Prepare and validate views and deliverables: Verilog, Liberty, schematics, LEF and GDS.
- Use EDA tools for development, verification and sign-off of memory IP.
- Develop automation and scripts to support characterization and verification flows.
- Collaborate with IP designers, verification engineers and foundry partners to meet performance, power and density targets.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required and preferred.
- Must-have: 2–5 years experience in memory design, characterization or related physical IP work.
- Must-have: Strong understanding of SRAM architecture, digital circuit fundamentals and SoC concepts.
- Must-have: Good understanding of device physics relevant to memory design.
- Must-have: Working knowledge of scripting (Shell, TCL) and experience applying automation in design flows.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with computer architecture and AI-assisted design/verification techniques.
- Nice-to-have: Strong debugging, analytical and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently or in teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent practical experience) is specified. The posting expects Electronics Engineering as the field of study.
