Senior Layout Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and develop custom IC layouts for Embedded Memory IP, standard cells, and IO within the Foundation IP team based in Ho Chi Minh City. The role ensures layouts meet performance, power, and manufacturability targets and supports tape-outs across advanced process nodes.
Work closely with circuit designers, verification teams, and global engineering groups to deliver silicon-proven IP used in customer chips.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include creating, verifying, and improving physical layouts and flows for IP:
- Design and develop custom layouts for memory compilers, standard cells, and IO structures.
- Optimize layout topologies for density, performance, power, and manufacturability across advanced nodes.
- Collaborate with circuit designers and verification teams to meet electrical and physical requirements.
- Debug and resolve DRC, LVS, and antenna violations in hierarchical designs.
- Develop and refine layout methodologies and automation flows to improve IP development efficiency.
- Participate in design reviews and document layout guidelines, design decisions, and process updates.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience; concise list of practical requirements and preferred additions.
- 2+ years hands-on experience in custom IC layout design with focus on memory compilers, standard cells, or analog/mixed-signal blocks.
- Deep understanding of layout fundamentals: device matching, parasitic extraction, electromigration, and IR drop.
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso Layout Suite, Synopsys Custom Compiler, and Calibre DRC/LVS or equivalent tools.
- Experience debugging complex DRC/LVS and antenna rule violations.
- Strong documentation and cross-functional communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: experience developing layout automation/methodology, and working across multiple advanced process nodes.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication, Physics, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
