Job Title

Senior IP Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and deliver Connectivity IP for Lattice FPGAs, focusing on high-speed RTL implementation, performance, power, and logic utilization. Work with architects and cross-functional teams to translate specifications into silicon-ready IP and lead technical execution.

Position is based in Penang, Malaysia; role emphasizes hands-on RTL development and technical leadership.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires a minimum of 6 years of FPGA or system design experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include designing Connectivity IP, optimizing implementations, and providing technical leadership.

  • Develop and enhance Connectivity IP (high-speed interfaces and peripherals) for Lattice FPGAs.
  • Translate architecture specifications into high-speed RTL designs.
  • Optimize IP for performance, power, and logic utilization; drive timing closure.
  • Lead technical execution and provide guidance to engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with verification, validation, and system teams for interoperability and hardware validation.
  • Create example designs, packaging, and testbenches as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and preferred competencies.

  • Experience with high-speed SERDES protocols (PCIe, Ethernet, CPRI, JESD204B/C/D) or peripherals (SPI, I2C, I3C).
  • Hands-on FPGA RTL design, logic verification, debug, and timing-closure experience.
  • Programming skills in one or more: C/C++, Perl, TCL, Python.
  • Experience with hardware validation or interoperability testing is a plus.
  • Experience in soft IP packaging, example design, and testbench development is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving, self-motivation, and effective communication; ability to work in diverse teams and drive projects to completion.
  • Right to work in Malaysia and successful background/reference checks required.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Electronics or Computer Engineering. The role expects a minimum of 6 years of FPGA or system design experience.
