Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer – EDA Clusters
NVIDIAJob Title
Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer – EDA Clusters
Role Summary
Individual contributor responsible for designing, deploying, and operating security controls and telemetry for NVIDIA's EDA compute, storage, and networking across on-premises data centers and multi-cloud. Work closely with cluster operators to implement and own security outcomes.
This is hands-on engineering: code, instrumentation, secure-by-default infrastructure, and operational ownership rather than policy reviews.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 8+ years of hands-on infrastructure or infrastructure-security engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include building and operating security for performance-sensitive, long-running compute clusters.
- Design, ship to production, and operate security controls and telemetry for compute, storage, and networking.
- Engineer solutions that protect multi-day, high-value compute jobs without degrading performance.
- Use the network and platform as the control plane when in-node agents are not viable.
- Collect and normalize fleet security signals into the SIEM; build detections and dashboards that are actionable.
- Investigate, contain, and remediate EDA-specific threats hands-on with infrastructure and service owners.
- Automate enforcement and evidence via infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code.
- Manage the lifecycle of owned security technologies: selection, rollout, operation, and replacement.
- Collaborate with data center operations, storage and network engineering, CSP teams, and central security on shared outcomes.
- Perform threat modeling and mitigation planning across network, storage, and compute.
Requirements
Required skills and experience.
- 8+ years of hands-on infrastructure or infrastructure-security engineering across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Strong Linux/system-level expertise.
- Experience operating or securing compute fleets at scale, including provisioning, lifecycle, and long-running jobs.
- Working networking expertise applied to large compute environments.
- Programming/scripting fluency in Python, Go, or shell for automation, detection, and tooling.
- Foundations in access control, authentication, segmentation, encryption, and vulnerability lifecycle management.
- Proven ability to drive changes through partners and stakeholders who do not report to you.
- Clear written and verbal communication with engineers and leadership.
Nice-to-have:
- Security or platform engineering experience in EDA, HPC, or large research clusters.
- Breadth across security domains (IAM, EDR/XDR, CNAPP, CSPM, zero-trust) or rapid domain learning.
- Experience building detection and enforcement systems at hyperscalers or security product companies.
- Experience with kernel- and fabric-level observability/enforcement (eBPF, DPU/SmartNIC offload, in-line/out-of-band inspection).
- Contributions to open-source security or infrastructure tooling.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent practical experience; equivalent experience is explicitly acceptable in lieu of a degree.
