Senior Hypervisor and RTOS Engineer

Role Summary

Work on hypervisor and RTOS components of the NVIDIA DRIVE software stack to enable real-time, safety- and security-critical functionality for autonomous vehicles. The team focuses on resource sharing and separation, high-integrity engineering, and formal methods to improve software quality.

Senior β€” 8+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

The engineer will design, implement, optimize, and debug hypervisor and RTOS software for automotive SoCs and lead cross-team technical efforts.

  • Design and develop new RTOS and hypervisor features.
  • Bring up and optimize RTOS and hypervisor stacks on NVIDIA Tegra SoCs.
  • Develop high-integrity software following safety and security best practices.
  • Debug complex system-level issues across hardware, firmware, RTOS, and virtualization layers.
  • Lead and coordinate team-wide technical initiatives to completion.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in system or embedded software.
  • Strong systems programming skills in C/C++ and embedded software development.
  • Deep understanding of RTOS concepts, operating-system internals, and hardware-assisted virtualization.
  • Experience debugging across hardware, firmware, OS, and virtualization layers.
  • Proven technical leadership, collaboration, and communication; experience driving cross-team initiatives.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of automotive quality and functional-safety standards (ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO 21434).
  • Experience with formal methods or other high-integrity development practices.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
