Senior HW IP Designer
Role Summary
Join Qualcomm Interconnect Technology Center (QITC) in Guyancourt as a hardware IP designer focused on NoC/interconnect units. You will own unit specification, micro-architecture and RTL development and work with verification, exploration and support teams to deliver production silicon blocks.
Experience Level
Senior. Preferred 8–10 years in microelectronics definition and design; Qualcomm also accepts equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver designs from product requirement to verified RTL and support integration and silicon bring-up.
- Translate product requirements into unit specifications and micro-architecture.
- Produce and maintain clear specification documents and review with peers and verification.
- Implement RTL and drive simulation-based verification with the verification team.
- Collaborate with exploration, support and integration teams during development and bring-up.
- Debug issues, propose and implement ECOs as required.
Requirements
Essential technical skills and experience required to perform the role.
- Strong RTL coding and simulation experience (Verilog/SystemVerilog) and familiarity with simulation tools.
- Proven ability to create robust micro-architectures and write clear specifications.
- Good knowledge of SoC/ASIC design flow and interconnect protocols (AMBA family such as AXI, CHI).
- Programming and scripting: Python, C++ and RTL languages.
- Experience with version control (Git/SVN) and common verification/simulation tools (e.g., NC-Sim).
- Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills; able to perform ECOs.
- Effective communication and teamwork in an international, multi-site environment; French and English proficiency.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Science, Engineering or a related field. Preferred: Master’s in Electrical Engineering or Digital Design. Minimum-qualification rules in the source allow: Bachelor's + ~2 years ASIC experience, Master’s + ~1 year, or PhD; equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
