Senior High Speed SerDes Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Join the DGX Server Product Engineering Team as a Senior Validation Engineer focused on validation of GPU-accelerated server platforms. You will develop and implement automated, system-level validation plans and work with hardware, firmware, software, ODMs and suppliers to ensure products meet performance and reliability targets for production.
Experience Level
Senior β 5+ years of experience validating and debugging complex systems, including high-speed I/O and system-level hardware/software issues.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include ownership of end-to-end product validation, coordination across teams, and troubleshooting system-level failures.
- Develop and own validation plans: test design, automation, coverage metrics, resource planning, and release to production.
- Design and execute system-level stress and performance tests using real-world Deep Learning/AI workloads.
- Develop and run factory diagnosis tools and real-world workload automation.
- Collaborate with ODMs, component suppliers, and QA teams to close coverage gaps.
- Coordinate cross-functional internal and external teams across time zones.
- Investigate and resolve complex hardware and software issues on GPU-accelerated platforms.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience, followed by desirable qualifications.
Must-have
- High-speed SERDES validation experience at 50 Gbaud and above.
- Strong understanding of DSP-based high-speed SERDES architectures and practical debugging skills.
- Proven experience validating and debugging complex systems and running real-world workloads and factory diagnostics.
- Proficiency with lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
- Programming and scripting experience (C/C++, JavaScript, Python).
- Excellent verbal and written communication; demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and suppliers.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with datacenter products (system management, security, networking, storage).
- Familiarity with Ethernet and InfiniBand switch architectures.
- Hands-on SERDES performance tuning experience.
- Background in circuit and waveform analysis and process improvement with automation focus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
