Senior High Speed Optical Transceiver Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver high-speed optical transceiver electrical hardware for data-center networking products. The role covers schematic and board design, component selection, hands-on lab validation, and scaling designs to mass production.
Works within a multidisciplinary engineering team (signal/power integrity, thermo-mechanical, optics, software, manufacturing and suppliers) to optimize performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 8+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include electrical design, cross-discipline leadership, lab validation, and production readiness.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, PCB designs, and select components for high-speed optical transceivers.
- Lead multi-discipline product design efforts with thermo-mechanical, signal/power integrity, optics, and software teams.
- Perform hands-on lab work: prototype, characterize, debug, and iterate hardware designs.
- Collaborate with qualification, suppliers, and manufacturers to move designs from lab to high-volume production.
- Evaluate physical trade-offs and apply engineering judgment to meet performance, power, and reliability targets.
- Adopt new technologies and improve designs across product generations.

Must-have:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in electrical/hardware design for high-speed systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an engineering approach to physical trade-offs.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability and desire to work on multidisciplinary projects in a fast-paced development environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of electro-optic communications, high-speed signaling, or analog circuit design.
- Hands-on electrical lab experience (prototyping, measurement, debugging).
- Previous experience in hardware/system-level engineering and production scaling.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university, or equivalent practical experience.
