Senior Hardware Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Senior Validation Engineer on the DGX Server Product Engineering team responsible for end-to-end hardware validation of GPU-accelerated computing products. The role develops and executes automated test plans, coordinates cross-functional teams and suppliers, and resolves system-level hardware and software issues to prepare products for production.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 5+ years of experience validating and debugging complex systems.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include ownership of validation activities across development and release, coordinating stakeholders, and building system-level test strategies.
- Own product validation from test-plan development through automation, execution, bug resolution, and release to production.
- Design for validation requirements, resource planning, and coverage metrics.
- Develop system-level stress and performance test strategies using real-world deep learning/AI workloads.
- Automate tests and develop factory diagnosis tools and workflows.
- Collaborate with ODMs, component suppliers, and QA teams to close coverage gaps.
- Coordinate internal and external teams across time zones for validation schedules and releases.
- Investigate and resolve complex hardware/software issues on GPU-accelerated platforms.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, lab availability, and interpersonal abilities required to perform the role.
- Ability to work on site in a hardware lab environment 5 days per week.
- Experience with high-speed I/O validation and system-level debugging.
- 5+ years of relevant experience validating and debugging complex systems.
- Experience developing and running real-world workloads and factory diagnosis tools.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and suppliers under tight schedules.
- Familiarity with lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
- Deep understanding of computing architectures and system-level behavior.
- Programming and scripting experience (C/C++, JavaScript, Python).
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with datacenter products: system management, security, networking, or storage.
- Background with x86/Arm server architectures and accelerated GPU computing.
- Track record of process improvement, tools development, and automation.
- Knowledge of circuit and waveform analysis.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCE), or equivalent practical experience.
