Job Title

Senior Hardware Systems Engineer β€” LPU Platform Pathfinding

Role Summary

Lead hardware pathfinding for next-generation LPU platforms, shaping system architecture for power delivery, cooling, mechanical design, and high-bandwidth interconnects. Work across silicon, architecture, data center, product, and manufacturing teams to define and deliver production-ready systems for large-scale AI workloads.

Experience Level

Senior; typically 8+ years of relevant experience leading platform, system, or hardware engineering efforts from concept through delivery.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include early architecture evaluations, system integration, and full-stack debugging:

  • Drive hardware pathfinding for power delivery, cooling, mechanical design, and high-bandwidth interconnects.
  • Guide system-level technical decisions that influence the LPU roadmap.
  • Collaborate with silicon, architecture, data center, cloud, product, and manufacturing teams to deliver production-ready systems.
  • Lead full-stack system debug across electrical, mechanical, thermal, firmware, OS, and application layers.
  • Support program execution: track issues, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Own interconnect and cooling architecture, including optical links, backplanes, power distribution, and cluster-level cooling systems.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 8+ years leading platform, system, or hardware engineering efforts from concept through delivery.
  • Broad system knowledge in electrical/power design, mechanical/thermal engineering, firmware integration, and performance tuning.
  • Experience in pathfinding and maturing early designs into production solutions.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across hardware and software boundaries.
  • Clear communication and ability to align diverse engineering groups.
  • Exposure to large-scale AI platforms such as LPU, GPU, TPU, or custom accelerators.

Nice-to-have:

  • Direct experience designing or validating accelerator systems at rack or cluster scale.
  • Ownership of first-of-kind system designs (new power networks, liquid cooling, optical interconnects).
  • Familiarity with hyperscale data center infrastructure, facility power, and interconnect fabrics.
  • Strength in early bring-up, diagnostics, signal integrity, rapid prototyping, or participation in industry standards efforts.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
