Senior Hardware Sustaining / DVT Engineer
Role Summary
Drive design verification testing (DVT), hardware bring‑up, and sustaining activities for Tensordyne's board- and system-level generative AI inference products. Work with engineering, product, manufacturing and operations teams to validate functionality, diagnose failures, and implement design changes to meet performance and reliability targets.
Experience Level
Senior — requires significant independent experience. The posting requests 5+ years of hardware validation and/or sustaining experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for validation, debugging, and sustaining of hardware products.
- Plan and execute hardware validation and verification test plans (EVT/DVT/PVT).
- Hands-on board bring-up, programming, functional testing and characterization.
- Create and maintain benchtop and system-level test environments and fixtures.
- Analyze failures, perform root-cause investigations, and drive corrective actions and ECO/MCO releases.
- Support compliance and certification testing activities.
- Drive parts selection and vendor qualification in collaboration with manufacturing operations.
- Develop diagnostic and manufacturing tests; automate test procedures and data analysis with scripts and tools.
- Support reliability, stress testing, and part lifecycle management for sustaining activities.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for success in the role.
- 5+ years of hardware validation and/or sustaining experience on board and system-level products.
- Hands-on experience with board bring-up, in-system programming, and board characterization.
- Experience writing test plans, executing tests, and producing validation reports (EVT/DVT/PVT).
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), programmable power supplies, and protocol analyzers.
- Experience developing diagnostics, manufacturing test programs, and automation scripts for data capture and analysis.
- Ability to analyze failures, perform root-cause analysis, and drive design changes to resolution.
- Self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and collaborating across teams.
- Experience with vendor qualification, parts selection, and support for compliance testing (preferred but common in role).
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
