Senior Hardware Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Hardware Engineer will design, integrate, and verify FPGA IP and system-level interfaces for Siemens EDA products. The role focuses on protocol integration, FPGA implementation, creating test and simulation environments, and producing documentation and demo designs to support product deliveries.

Experience Level

Senior. The role targets candidates with approximately 3–7 years of relevant experience in digital and FPGA design.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, integration, verification, and delivery of FPGA-based interfaces and IP.

  • Design and develop FPGA IP for new and existing systems.
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party FPGA IP for complex protocols.
  • Develop simulation and test environments to validate protocol integrations.
  • Write host-side software to drive and automate test environments.
  • Create demo/reference designs and supporting documentation for at-speed interface integrations.
  • Perform system-level integration and execute verification tasks, including timing analysis and constraint management.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

Must-have

  • 3–7 years experience in digital design and FPGA design flow.
  • Proficiency in Verilog HDL or VHDL.
  • Hands-on FPGA implementation experience, including constraints and timing analysis.
  • Experience with logic synthesis and reading synthesis reports.
  • Proficiency in functional simulation methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of modern protocols: PCIe, NVMe, USB, SATA, SAS, Ethernet, DDRx, UFS, MIPI UniPro (as applicable).
  • Familiarity with Xilinx development workflow (Vivado and Vitis).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice-to-have

  • Embedded programming experience.
  • Scripting skills (Perl, Shell) for test automation.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Computer Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
