Job Title

Senior FPGA Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Senior engineer responsible for functional verification of FPGA-based designs using SystemVerilog and UVM methodologies. Work with firmware, hardware, and system teams to develop and execute verification plans and ensure design correctness before integration.

Experience Level

Senior β€” minimum of 8 years of relevant FPGA verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include planning and executing verification activities for FPGA designs and maintaining verification environments.

  • Develop and maintain UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches and verification IP.
  • Create directed and constrained-random tests; implement functional coverage.
  • Write and maintain assertions and checkers to validate design behavior.
  • Debug functional failures using simulation and waveform analysis; track and resolve bugs with design teams.
  • Integrate verification environments with continuous integration and regression frameworks.
  • Collaborate with RTL designers, firmware, and system engineers during bring-up and system integration.
  • Document verification plans, test results, and coverage metrics.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, security, and experience requirements.

  • 8+ years of professional experience in FPGA/ASIC verification.
  • Expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM for functional verification.
  • Experience with simulation tools and methodologies (e.g., VCS, Questa, or equivalent).
  • Proficient in scripting for automation and testbench utilities (Python, TCL, shell, or similar).
  • Strong debugging skills and experience with waveform-driven fault isolation.
  • Familiarity with FPGA toolflows and basic timing/implementation considerations.
  • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with emulation, hardware-in-the-loop, or system-level bring-up.

Education Requirements

STEM degree required (e.g., BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field).
