Senior FPGA Verification Engineer
AndurilJob Title
Senior FPGA Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The Imaging team at Anduril develops electro-optical and infrared imaging systems and associated FPGA/ASIC firmware for fielded hardware. This role leads FPGA verification for new product lines: designing verification environments, developing testbenches, and maturing prototypes through lab and flight testing.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 8+ years of relevant FPGA/ASIC development and verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on architecture and execution of RTL verification and on providing technical leadership to verification teams.
- Design verification environment architecture using SystemVerilog/OVM/UVM or equivalent.
- Develop verification testbenches for RTL blocks in VHDL and/or SystemVerilog.
- Create and maintain written test plans, test cases, code coverage, and functional coverage metrics.
- Apply constrained-random testing, functional coverage analysis, and assertion-based verification.
- Recommend and adopt tools and practices to improve ASIC/FPGA verification flows.
- Provide technical leadership: break down verification work, plan activities, and report status for projects.
- Contribute to engineering estimates for new program pursuits and prototype maturation.
Requirements
Key qualifications and technical skills required for the role.
- Must-have: 8+ years developing HDL firmware for FPGA devices and professional experience simulating RTL with VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and execute verification testbenches using VHDL and/or SystemVerilog.
- Experience with chip-level verification methodologies including constrained-random testing, functional coverage, and assertions.
- Experience with revision control systems such as Git or Subversion for code and configuration management.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Nice-to-have: ASIC/FPGA lab validation and debug experience, familiarity with DFT/manufacturability/production test concepts.
- Proficiency with Unix/Linux and scripting or software development (C, C++, Python, Perl, shell).
- Familiarity with industry simulation and synthesis tools such as QuestaSim, Synplify, Quartus, or Vivado.
Education Requirements
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
