Senior - typically requires 8+ years of professional FPGA design and development experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include hands-on FPGA development through the full lifecycle and ensuring designs meet system requirements.
- Develop, simulate, and implement FPGA designs on Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms.
- Participate in the full design lifecycle: requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, and board bring-up.
- Integrate third-party IP as needed and ensure interoperability with system components.
- Implement and verify high-speed communications (Ethernet, serial) and signal-processing pipelines (analog/digital).
- Perform hands-on debugging and resolve issues at the HDL and system level.
- Maintain traceability of designs to higher-level system and safety requirements where applicable.
- Travel as required (up to ~25%) for hardware bring-up and coordination with other sites.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional FPGA design and development experience, with strong digital circuit design skills.
- Experience with Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms and SoC hardware bring-up, preferably on ARM-based systems.
- Proficient in VHDL and/or Verilog; experience with simulation and toolflows (e.g., Vivado, ModelSim, Quartus).
- Experience integrating and validating IP and high-speed bus interfaces.
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance and ability to maintain it.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Expertise in SystemVerilog.
- Experience designing for safety-critical functions.
- Low-level firmware (C/C++) experience for bring-up and test.
- Broad experience with FPGA interfaces and high-speed buses.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
