Job Title

Senior FPGA Engineer, Intelligence Systems

Role Summary

Join Anduril's Intelligence Systems (AIS) team in Reston to design, implement, test, and bring up FPGA-based solutions for intelligence customers. The role focuses on rapid development of FPGA designs on Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms and delivering production-capable hardware and firmware.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 8+ years of professional FPGA design and development experience.

Responsibilities

Provide end-to-end FPGA engineering from requirements through design, test, and board bring-up for intelligence systems.

  • Design, simulate, and implement FPGA/SoC logic on Xilinx platforms.
  • Participate in the full design lifecycle: requirements, architecture, implementation, verification, and hands-on board bring-up.
  • Integrate third-party IP blocks and ensure correct interface operation.
  • Implement and validate high-speed communications (Ethernet, serial) and signal-processing functions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve HDL- and system-level bugs discovered during hardware testing.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable safety and performance requirements with traceability to system-level requirements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, security eligibility, and professional attributes.

  • Strong digital circuit design skills and practical FPGA development experience.
  • Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog.
  • Experience with Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms; familiarity with Vivado preferred; ModelSim or Quartus experience acceptable.
  • Experience with SoC hardware bring-up, preferably on ARM-based systems.
  • Effective problem-solving, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Currently holds and can maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-have:

  • Designing for safety-critical functions and high-reliability systems.
  • Experience with FPGA interfaces and high-speed buses.
  • Low-level firmware (C/C++) development for bring-up and test.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. (The posting specifies a Bachelor's degree; no alternative "equivalent experience" language was provided.)
