Role Summary

Senior FPGA Engineer responsible for designing and implementing FPGA-based embedded systems for underwater audio technology. The role focuses on digital logic design, high-speed DSP algorithm implementation, custom IP core development, and simulation/test utility creation.

This is an on-site role in Austin, TX, working within a small engineering team to bring prototype and production FPGA solutions to market.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 5+ years of FPGA engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design and develop embedded systems built on FPGA technology.
• Create digital logic using Verilog and SystemVerilog.
• Implement high-speed DSP algorithms in digital logic.
• Develop custom IP cores from scratch.
• Use simulation tools and write custom test utilities to validate designs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and constraints:

• 5+ years of FPGA engineering experience.
• Proven ability to write mathematical algorithms to run on a GPU in Windows.
• Experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog for digital logic design.
• Hands-on experience with C or embedded C, MATLAB, and/or Python.
• Experience implementing high-speed DSP algorithms and creating custom IP cores.
• No sponsorship available; no third-party candidates.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required (as stated). No mention of equivalent-experience exceptions or specific certifications.
