Role Summary
Design and implement FPGA-based systems as part of the hardware engineering team. The role focuses on VHDL development, simulation, board-level verification, and prototype testing to deliver qualified product designs.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing, verifying, and documenting FPGA designs and supporting prototype build and test.
- Develop VHDL code for FPGA-based designs and perform simulation.
- Debug and verify designs in code and on circuit boards.
- Write detailed technical design documentation and test procedures.
- Model, build, test, and modify product prototypes using simulations and hardware.
- Use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters) for validation and troubleshooting.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 5+ years FPGA development experience including VHDL logic design, simulation, and hardware testing.
- Circuit board and FPGA troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with Altera/Intel Quartus design software and QuestaSim.
- Proficiency operating lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Waukesha, WI and commute via personal transportation; travel ~0%.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience driving product/program closure and prototype modeling.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline required (for example, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics) as stated in the posting.
