Job Title
Senior FPGA Engineer
Role Summary
Lead integration of an existing VHDL-based FPGA prototype for an MRI gradient driver into a production MR platform. Responsible for FPGA development, real-time control of high-voltage power electronics, system integration, validation, and production transition in a regulated, high-reliability environment.
Experience Level
Senior β 10+ years of FPGA and digital design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include FPGA development, integration, and validation for MRI gradient driver and associated power-electronics control.
- Assume ownership and further develop VHDL FPGA designs for real-time control of high-voltage (~800V) switching systems and gradient control.
- Design, implement, and optimize synchronous digital logic, PWM-based control, state machines, and perform timing analysis.
- Perform FPGA hardware integration, bring-up, debugging, and validation on target hardware.
- Integrate FPGA prototype into production MR platform and support the transition from lab prototype to production-ready medical equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Document design processes, test results, and evidence required for regulatory compliance in medical device production.
Requirements
