Senior FPGA Engineer

Role Summary

Deliver and support FPGA prototyping platforms within the Productivity Engineering group to enable design debugging and pre-silicon verification across product segments (mobile, servers, IoT, automotive).

Collaborate with global teams and vendors to meet validation goals and maintain scalable FPGA services and methodologies.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 4–8 years of relevant FPGA prototyping experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and deploy FPGA images and debugging technologies for system prototyping.
  • Automate FPGA flows and define methodologies for the FPGA user community.
  • Support FPGA users and maintain the FPGA service.
  • Collaborate with EDA vendors to define requirements for next-generation FPGA hardware and tools.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 4–8 years experience with FPGA flows on Xilinx/AMD devices, including compilation, partitioning, synthesis, timing analysis, and place-and-route troubleshooting.
  • Proven record in design debugging and execution, both individually and in teams.
  • Deep understanding of digital design concepts and Verilog coding.
  • Experience with code versioning and review; proactive problem solving.

Nice-to-have:

  • Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or Tcl.
