Senior Foundry Test Engineer
PsiQuantumJob Title
Senior Foundry Test Engineer
Role Summary
Support foundry-level optical and electrical testing for silicon-photonic devices, including end-of-line tests, in-line test development, and cross-facility matching. Work with foundry, vendor, and internal teams to increase throughput, improve test capabilities, and ensure consistent measurement across sites.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 5+ years of relevant industry experience in photonic or wafer-level test and characterization.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include:
- Develop and improve electrical and optical test systems, test recipes, and flow for wafer-level photonics.
- Increase test throughput and capability for end-of-line and in-line testing.
- Collaborate with foundry and vendor teams to optimize tooling, sampling plans, and cross-facility matching.
- Analyze test data to identify process variation and recommend test or sampling improvements.
- Provide recipe and data-support for remote tools across multiple sites and coordinate cross-site tool behavior.
- Troubleshoot optical and system-level issues and support R&D and NPI engineering efforts.
- Work independently within a large, distributed team and document processes and results.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical skills:
- Must-have: Minimum 5 years' experience in wafer-level photonic test or characterization, including fiber and FAU-based high-speed testing.
- Must-have: Proven experience in test data analysis and troubleshooting optical and system-level problems.
- Must-have: Experience collaborating with engineers in R&D and NPI environments and familiarity with fab process flows and how process variance affects measurements.
- Nice-to-have: Programming and data skills (Python, SQL, or similar) to support analysis and recipe automation.
- Nice-to-have: Experience supporting remote tools, multi-site recipe management, and cross-facility matching.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BS) minimum; PhD preferred. Specific fields of study were not specified in the source posting.
