Senior Firmware Engineer - UEFI

Role Summary

The Senior Firmware Engineer will design, develop, and bring up UEFI-based firmware on ARM hardware platforms. This role partners with hardware, silicon, and system teams to enable early board bring-up and production-ready platform firmware.

Experience Level

Senior level - typically 5+ years of relevant firmware, embedded systems, or platform bring-up experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include firmware development, porting, and platform bring-up:

• Design, develop, and debug UEFI firmware for system bring-up and production platforms.
• Lead UEFI porting efforts to new hardware platforms, including early boot and hardware abstraction layers.
• Perform board power-on, SoC initialization, and bring-up activities on new designs.
• Collaborate with hardware, silicon, and system teams to debug low-level firmware and power-on issues.
• Integrate and maintain ARM SCP Firmware and Trusted Firmware-A (TF-A) as part of the secure boot chain.
• Analyze boot flows, power sequencing, and memory initialization to ensure platform stability.
• Create technical documentation for firmware design, bring-up procedures, and debug guidelines.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• 5+ years of firmware, embedded systems, or platform bring-up experience.
• Strong expertise in UEFI firmware development and platform porting.
• Proven experience in board bring-up and power-on debugging for new hardware platforms.
• Solid understanding of ARM architecture and boot flows.
• Working knowledge of ARM SCP Firmware and Trusted Firmware-A (TF-A).
• Proficiency in C and low-level firmware development.
• Experience with hardware debugging tools.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
