Senior Firmware Engineer - GPU

Role Summary

Develop and validate boot, firmware, and security software for NVIDIA SoCs and GPUs across Automotive, Embedded, and Data Center platforms. Work on low-level system software from pre-silicon simulation through silicon bring-up.

Collaborate with architecture, software, and hardware teams to identify and resolve boot and security issues and to improve next-generation system-on-chip designs.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on firmware and boot software engineering across the chip lifecycle.

  • Design, implement, and validate SOC and GPU boot and security firmware for Automotive, Embedded, and Data Center platforms.
  • Participate in pre-silicon simulation/emulation and post-silicon power-on bring-up activities.
  • Debug and resolve issues in the Boot stack and related low-level software components.
  • Collaborate with architecture, software, and hardware build teams to drive silicon readiness and reliability.

Requirements

  • Must-have:
    • 5+ years of experience in firmware or system software engineering.
    • Bare-metal firmware development experience (PCIE, ACPI, ARM or RISC-V).
    • Strong knowledge of computer system architecture and microprocessor fundamentals (caches, buses, DMA).
    • Proficient in C and strong debugging skills.
    • Defensive security programming practices.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have:
    • Deep understanding of boot process intricacies on complex SoCs.
    • Familiarity with GPU kernel drivers and firmware.
    • Experience with pre-silicon and post-silicon bring-up of complex SoCs.
    • Experience using GenAI-based workflows for system software development and debugging.
    • Experience collaborating with third-party SoC vendors and their software stacks.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering β€” or equivalent practical experience.
