Senior Firmware Engineer
Role Summary
Senior member of the QoS NIC Firmware team based in Tel Aviv or Yokneam. Lead a firmware development team and contribute hands-on to design and implementation of QoS and NIC firmware features across pre- and post-silicon environments.
Collaborate with architecture and software teams, develop verification tests, and resolve system-level HW/FW/SW issues to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 8+ years of professional experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Research, design, and implement QoS algorithms and firmware features to improve performance and scalability.
- Provide hardware-aware technical guidance and drive maintainable core firmware development.
- Implement new NIC firmware features in pre- and post-silicon environments.
- Develop and run verification tests for advanced firmware functionality in a complex test environment.
- Collaborate with architecture and cross-functional software teams on system design and integration.
- Debug system-level issues and analyze HW/FW/SW interactions.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Minimum 8+ years of professional firmware or embedded systems experience.
- Proven technical leadership and experience making decisions on complex firmware projects.
- Proficiency in C and embedded systems programming.
- Strong hands-on problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Fast learner, highly organized, with strong attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and collaboration skills; able to work independently.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of network protocols and networking stacks.
- Real-time programming experience.
- Experience coordinating across multiple functions and reporting technical status to managers or executives.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and handle crisis situations in real time.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from a recognized institute.
