Senior Firmware Engineer - Development, Verification and Infrastructure
Role Summary
Work on the NVLink Firmware Development and Verification team to verify firmware across pre-silicon and post-silicon platforms and enable firmware and verification infrastructure for next-generation GPUs and multi-GPU interconnects.
This role focuses on firmware verification, silicon bring-up, debugging, and building automation and infrastructure to support firmware development and regression.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 6+ years of experience in firmware or software verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include firmware verification, silicon enablement, and infrastructure support.
- Collaborate with design and verification teams to validate firmware features and functionality.
- Develop verification plans, test cases, and correctness models (primarily in Python) to verify firmware behavior.
- Drive silicon bring-up, feature enablement, and system-level debug on GPU platforms.
- Work with architecture, hardware, and firmware teams on enablement, design-for-debug, and validation strategies.
- Triage and resolve firmware issues observed during customer qualification or in-field testing.
- Log and track bugs, maintain coverage metrics, and perform gap analysis.
- Develop and maintain automation tools and verification infrastructure to improve development and regression workflows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in firmware or software verification.
- Strong debugging and analytical skills; experience with silicon bring-up and system-level debug.
- Proficiency in Python, C, and C++; understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Solid understanding of computer architecture, microprocessors, and microcontroller fundamentals.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills; experience working across on-site and remote teams.
- Ability to work effectively under tight schedules and in a team environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience with hardware/software interaction and embedded environments.
- Familiarity with RTOS or RISC-V programming and debugging.
- Experience developing verification automation, regression frameworks, or infrastructure tools.
- Passion for low-level software, firmware development, and debugging.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
