Role Summary

Senior Field Applications Engineer on the South China team supporting design-in and production deployment of Lattice FPGA and CPLD solutions. The role focuses on customer technical engagement across automotive, industrial, video, and server markets, working with customers, channel partners, sales, and global R&D to drive design wins and successful product launches.

Experience Level

Senior - requires substantial industry experience. The posting specifies 12+ years in the electronics industry with at least 5 years in FPGA development or technical support (FAE/AE).

Responsibilities

Provide technical support across pre-sales, development, production, and channel enablement to ensure customer success and product adoption.

• Act as primary technical interface for customers, recommending devices and solution architectures for target applications.
• Support pre-sales activities: customer visits, technical training, demos, and validation to drive new designs.
• Support customers through the FPGA development lifecycle: design reviews, tool training, RTL/debugging, timing closure, and board-level troubleshooting.
• Resolve technical issues related to timing, resource utilization, configuration, and system integration.
• Provide post-sales and production support, perform root-cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions with quality teams.
• Enable distributor/channel FAE teams through technical training and project support.
• Collect customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and industry trends to inform product planning and market strategy.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and behaviors for the role.

• 12+ years of electronics industry experience, including at least 5 years in FPGA development or technical support (FAE/AE).
• Strong knowledge of Lattice FPGA device families (Avant, Nexus, ECP, MachXO).
• Proficiency with Lattice development tools such as Radiant, Diamond, and Propel.
• Hands-on FPGA design experience across the full flow: RTL design, simulation, timing analysis, implementation, and debugging.
• Proficient in Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces (PCIe, SerDes, MIPI, DDR, Ethernet, HDMI, DP/eDP) and system-level integration.
• Board-level debugging skills and practical experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and common test equipment.
• Domain knowledge in at least two application areas such as automotive, industrial automation, video processing/bridging, or server systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer-facing communication skills; ability to collaborate with global R&D teams in English.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
