Senior Field Application Engineer - Emulation

Role Summary

Field-facing technical engineer supporting sales and deployment of Siemens EDA emulation and prototyping solutions (Veloce Strato) in the Americas. Act as technical lead during customer evaluations, deployments, and trainings to ensure successful technical outcomes and long-term customer satisfaction.

Experience Level

Senior - the role requests experienced candidates (10+ years) in chip/system design, verification, simulation, emulation or related applications engineering.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities when working with accounts and sales teams:

• Provide hands-on technical support during product evaluations to achieve technical milestones and close sales.
• Deploy and operate Siemens emulation solutions (Veloce Strato) for customer use and validation.
• Troubleshoot design and deployment issues; remove technical obstacles to progress.
• Deliver technical presentations, demos, and customer training on product features and updates.
• Collaborate with sales, account teams, product marketing, and product development to communicate customer requirements and feedback.
• Develop and maintain peer-level technical relationships with customer engineering teams.
• Automate and integrate tools using scripting or APIs to fit customer workflows.
• Travel as required for customer engagements (approx. 10%).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and behaviors:

• 10+ years' practical experience in chip/ASIC design, verification, simulation, emulation, prototyping, or equivalent applications engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with industry emulation platforms (Veloce, Palladium, ZeBu) and large design emulation deployments.
• Proficient with RTL and verification languages and methodologies: SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL, RTL and behavioral coding, and general ASIC debug.
• Experience with simulation environments and flows (Questa, Incisive, VCS, OVM, UVM).
• Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Perl, sed, awk, tcl/tk, sh) and extending/integrating tools via scripting or APIs.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; proven ability to build customer relationships and work cross-functionally.
• Ability to map customer design flows to Siemens EDA solutions and articulate cross-platform value versus competitors.

Nice-to-have:

• C, C++ and SystemC used with chip design/verification workflows.
• Familiarity with Transaction Level Modeling (TLM) methodologies.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science (CS) or a related technical field.
