Senior Field Application Engineer
Role Summary
Senior Field Application Engineer responsible for supporting GPU and networking products through production and deployment to ensure reliability, manufacturability, and quality at scale. The role works with manufacturing, quality, failure analysis, and cross-functional engineering teams to diagnose failures, drive root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Local to Guadalajara is strongly preferred.
Experience Level
Senior. Requires significant industry experience; posting specifies 5+ years of relevant experience in high-tech electronics, manufacturing, failure analysis, validation, or hardware debug roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on failure analysis, yield improvement, and cross-functional collaboration from NPI through high-volume production.
- Act as technical specialist for GPU and networking products to support manufacturing, quality, and failure analysis teams.
- Diagnose, reproduce, and resolve hardware and system-level failures through frequent on-site presence in labs and manufacturing sites.
- Identify system failure modes and manufacturing risks; drive corrective actions and design/process improvements.
- Support product lifecycle from NPI to high-volume manufacturing and field returns, ensuring continuous quality and reliability improvements.
- Develop failure analysis methodologies, test plans, diagnostics, and tools for hardware validation.
- Provide technical training and documentation to manufacturing, test, and quality teams on failure modes and debugging techniques.
- Establish and maintain technical relationships with internal engineering teams and manufacturing partners to enable timely issue resolution and root-cause determination.
Requirements
Must-have professional experience and skills required to perform the role.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in high-tech electronics, manufacturing, failure analysis, validation, or hardware debug.
- Proven track record in root-cause analysis, yield improvement, and managing multiple failure investigations and escalations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience coordinating complex cross-functional investigations.
- Experience with system-level debugging tools and developing diagnostic/test plans for hardware validation.
- Experience working with manufacturing partners, ODMs/OEMs, or reliability/quality teams in production environments.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; able to present technical findings clearly to engineering teams and management.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, evolving environment and travel on-site as required.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science β or equivalent practical experience.
