Senior Engineer (Test Solutions Engineering)

Role Summary

Member of the Test Solutions Engineering (TSE) team responsible for developing Automated Test Equipment (ATE) production test solutions from early design through high-volume manufacturing readiness. The role focuses on test plan definition, ATE characterization, yield and reliability validation, and cross-functional coordination with design, DFT, operations, and customers.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting prefers candidates with 2+ years of experience in Product Engineering, Test Engineering, DFT, or Technology Characterization.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include creating and validating production test strategies and supporting product qualification and yield improvement.

• Develop detailed ATE test plans, define experiments, and perform data analysis to validate yield, performance, and reliability.
• Design test screening methods based on application conditions, IP capabilities, timing margins, and process specifications while optimizing test time.
• Characterize ATE behavior and refine test solutions using lab results and customer system feedback.
• Use DFT features to explore operating space, characterize silicon variation, and support failure root-cause analysis.
• Establish robust test margins to protect yields and improve product quality.
• Collaborate with design, DFT, reliability, operations, and customer teams to define DFT requirements and ensure test coverage and schedule alignment.
• Support readiness for high-volume manufacturing (HVM) and participate in product qualification and reliability activities.

• Proven experience with ATE test development and production test methodologies.
• Practical knowledge of design-for-test (DFT) concepts and using DFT for debugging and coverage assessment.
• Strong data analysis and statistical skills to drive yield learning and test optimization.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Perl, or R) in a Linux environment; experience applying AI/ML to accelerate data analysis is valuable.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical results to engineering and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Analytical problem-solving skills with experience conducting root-cause analysis under ambiguous conditions.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage schedules and deliverables across teams.
• Candidate must be eligible to access export-controlled technology; non-U.S. applicants may be subject to an export license review.
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with semiconductor process technology, reliability/qualification methodologies, and prior product engineering or technology characterization experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
