Senior Engineer, Technology - AMAIS
Role Summary
Work in Micron's Advanced Modeling and AI Solutions (AMAIS) group to develop numerical and computational models of materials, structures, and processes that support DRAM and NAND node development and manufacturing.
The role involves coding and implementing scientific models, producing actionable insights for process and product teams, and collaborating across engineering, design, and manufacturing groups to deploy solutions on silicon.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 5+ years of modeling experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include building and deploying predictive models, analyzing results, and communicating findings to engineering teams and leadership.
- Develop, implement, and validate numerical and computational models (materials, structure, process).
- Create software, algorithms, and tools to extract insights from models and data.
- Collaborate with process, product design, and development teams to identify issues and provide modeling-driven solutions for silicon implementation.
- Perform predictive structure modeling across multiple DRAM and NAND nodes.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for users and leadership.
- Leverage AI/ML techniques to improve engineering workflows and modeling where applicable.
Requirements

- Independent, self-directed execution in a fast-paced team environment.
- Advanced skills in level set methods (LSM) for CAD, meshing, DOE, analysis, and rendering.
- Experience in computational geometry, virtual structure modeling, numerical methods, and scientific computing.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Abaqus, ANSYS, Victory Process, SPX, SEM3D and familiarity with FEA and thermo-mechanical modeling.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience producing reports and conference papers and presenting technical results to varied audiences.
- Familiarity with machine learning/deep learning concepts and applying AI to engineering workflows is desirable.
- Familiarity with semiconductor process integration and industrial/CAD/production engineering design is desirable.
Education Requirements
Ph.D. in Applied Mechanics, Applied Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
