Job Title

Senior Engineer, SoC PnP Architect

Role Summary

Work on SoC performance, power and platform (PnP) architecture with emphasis on pre-silicon modeling, emulation-based analysis and post-silicon characterization. The role supports architecture and platform decisions across compute, interconnect, memory and IO subsystems and collaborates with verification, design, firmware and software teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level - approximately 4+ years of relevant SoC PnP / performance experience (posting specifies 4+ years).

Responsibilities

The role focuses on system-level performance and power investigations across pre-silicon, emulation and silicon bring-up.

  • Perform pre-silicon performance analysis using simulation, emulation and transaction-level models.
  • Use waveform- and trace-based debug to identify latency, bandwidth, throughput, QoS and utilization bottlenecks.
  • Develop and calibrate performance and power models (SystemC/TLM, analytical, trace-driven).
  • Correlate model, emulation and post-silicon measurements and perform root-cause analysis of performance and power gaps.
  • Support silicon bring-up, PMU/telemetry analysis and workload-driven characterization.
  • Drive architecture trade-off analysis across performance, power, area, latency and implementation complexity.
  • Create automation, profiling and visualization tools for analysis and reporting.
  • Present findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams and influence platform/configuration decisions.

Requirements

Core technical skills and experience required for immediate contribution.

Must-have:

  • Minimum ~4+ years in SoC PnP/performance architecture or similar roles within the semiconductor industry.
  • Hands-on experience with emulation/simulation platforms (examples: Palladium, Veloce, ZeBu or equivalent) and pre-silicon performance analysis.
  • Experience building and using SystemC/TLM or trace-driven performance/power models and performing model-to-silicon correlation.
  • Post-silicon performance and power characterization experience, including PMU/telemetry and trace-driven investigations.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python for tooling, automation and analysis.
  • Practical experience with performance profiling and debugging in Linux and bare-metal environments.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture (CPU/GPU/accelerators, caches, pipelines) and SoC subsystems (interconnect, memory, IO, power-management).
  • Clear communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional investigations and present technical recommendations.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with transaction protocols and tracing (CHI, AXI, PCIe, CXL).
  • Experience with DVFS, power domains, thermal/TDP analysis and platform-level power management strategies.
  • Background in waveform/signal-level performance analysis and hardware debug techniques.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
