Role Summary

Senior SPICE modeling engineer supporting advanced process and device modeling for analog semiconductor products. Focus on high-voltage LDMOS and CMOS device modeling, inter-device parasitics, and multi-physics characterization. This position is part of ADI's global modeling team and is based in Bangalore, India.

Responsibilities

Key duties include hands-on device characterization, compact model development, and cross-disciplinary modeling work to support product and process development.

  • Develop compact models for LDMOS, CMOS, BJT, diodes, resistors, and capacitors; emphasis on high-voltage devices.
  • Characterize and model inter-device parasitics, including effects involving parasitic bipolar action and device coupling.
  • Perform electrical measurements and instrumentation work; investigate instrument limits and measurement techniques.
  • Develop and apply multi-physics models (electrical, thermal, mechanical) for device behavior.
  • Model long-term device degradation for MOS and LDMOS devices.
  • Collaborate with global modeling teams across locations and document technical results for design and process teams.
  • Travel as required (approximately 10%).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience followed by preferred skills.

  • Must-have: Strong device physics expertise and demonstrated compact/SPICE modeling experience for high-voltage LDMOS and CMOS devices.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with electrical characterization and measurement techniques.
  • Must-have: Experience modeling inter-device parasitics and parasitic bipolar effects.
  • Must-have: Experience with multi-physics modeling (electrothermal, mechanical coupling) and long-term degradation modeling.
  • Must-have: Able to collaborate across geographically distributed teams and clearly document technical results.
  • Preferred: Strong Python skills.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with SPICE-like circuit simulators and compact model implementations.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with electrothermal and piezoelectric device effects.

Education Requirements

PhD in Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics with a strong device physics background (required as stated by the posting).
