Senior Engineer, Reliability Engineering

Role Summary

Join the Reliability Hardware & Systems Development team in Wilmington, MA to design, develop, validate, and maintain reliability stress hardware and systems used to qualify semiconductor products. Work with reliability engineers, technicians, product teams, and hardware developers to deliver test solutions and support qualification across multiple technologies.

Position requires occasional travel (~10%).

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 2+ years of relevant hardware, test, or reliability engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver and support reliability test hardware and related systems for semiconductor qualification.

  • Design, develop, and validate reliability stress hardware such as Burn-In boards (BIBs), HAST boards, HTOL hardware, test fixtures, and support systems.
  • Maintain hardware used for reliability qualification and engineering evaluation.
  • Collaborate with reliability engineers and product teams to translate requirements into hardware solutions.
  • Support technicians during hardware validation, qualification execution, and failure analysis.
  • Troubleshoot board-level, system-level, and laboratory equipment issues.
  • Work with offshore hardware engineering resources and external suppliers (sockets, PCBs, components) to resolve issues.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support ESD and latch-up hardware development as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and behaviors.

  • 2+ years of experience in hardware development, test engineering, reliability engineering, product engineering, or related roles.
  • Knowledge of electronic circuit design, schematic capture, PCB development, and hardware debugging techniques.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with electronic test equipment and automated test environments.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work across cross-functional teams and manage multiple assignments.
  • Willingness to travel (~10%).

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with PCB design tools.
  • Experience with reliability stress methodologies (Burn-In, HTOL, HAST, HTOB, PTC) and JEDEC standards.
  • Experience with environmental chambers, power systems, fixtures, sockets, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Knowledge of ESD and latch‑up testing; experience supporting product qualification and NPI programs.

Education Requirements

B.S. in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required; M.S. in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) preferred.
