Job Title

Senior Engineer, Product Engineering (Mfg.)

Role Summary

The Senior Product Engineering (Manufacturing) engineer manages new product introduction and provides volume-production support for analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits. Works cross-functionally with design, process, test, reliability, and manufacturing teams to diagnose failures, improve yields, and reduce production costs.

Supports product transfer, root-cause analysis, measurement and characterization, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Partial telecommute: up to 2 days per week.

Experience Level

Senior. The posting specifies at least 2 years of experience as a product engineer or in a related role performing mixed-signal circuit debugging and physical failure analysis.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include driving NPI and production issue resolution and implementing process/test/design improvements.

  • Manage new product introduction and transitions to in-house or outsourced production.
  • Provide volume-production support and troubleshoot production problems.
  • Coordinate with design, process, test, reliability, and manufacturing engineering to resolve product issues.
  • Perform low-yield root-cause analysis and quantify impact (failure modes, affected quantity, fallout percentage, financial impact).
  • Analyze yield, test, device, and tool data using statistical and data-analysis software.
  • Perform circuit-level analysis of analog and mixed-signal ICs and validate failures with precision measurements.
  • Conduct fault isolation and physical failure analysis (material and device-level) and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
  • Drive improvements in test, design, and processes to reduce cost and improve quality and yields.

Requirements

Key technical skills and demonstrated expertise required for the role.

  • Experience debugging mixed-signal circuits and performing physical failure analysis.
  • Demonstrated expertise analyzing manufacturing statistics using tools such as Klarity ACE, Galaxy Examinator, and PDF Solutions Exensio for correlation and Pareto analysis.
  • Demonstrated expertise in IC modeling and simulation tools such as Cadence, Avalon, Console, and ADS.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evaluation and characterization using bench equipment (signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters) and automation via Python, LabVIEW, TestStand or similar.
  • Demonstrated expertise in failure-analysis techniques including OBIRCH, EMMI, X-Ray, and thermal hotspot analysis and application of semiconductor device physics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in mechanical and chemical de-processing, parallel polishing, SEM, focused ion beam (FIB), passive voltage contrast (PVC), EDX, and in-situ nanoprobing.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Device Physics, or a closely related technical discipline is required; foreign education equivalents are accepted. The posting also specifies at least two years of experience as a product engineer or related role.
