Job Title
Senior Engineer, Product Engineering (Manufacturing)
Role Summary
Responsible for new product introduction (NPI) and volume production support for a specific product or product group after transfer from design to in-house or outsourced manufacturing. The role partners with design, process, test, reliability, and manufacturing engineering to resolve product and production issues, improve yields, and reduce costs.
Partial telecommute benefit: up to 2 days per week remote work.
Experience Level
Senior — requires prior product engineering experience. The posting specifies a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include managing product transitions, resolving production issues, and driving improvements to yield, test, and cost.
- Manage new product introduction and provide volume production support from design transfer through high-volume manufacturing.
- Interface with design, process, test, reliability, and manufacturing teams to diagnose and resolve product and production problems.
- Lead low-yield root cause analysis, identify failure modes, quantify impacted material and financial impact, and define corrective/preventive actions.
- Analyze yield, test, fabrication, and tool data using statistical tools and custom scripts to identify correlations and improvement opportunities.
- Perform circuit analysis and electrical characterization of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits using EDA tools and precision bench equipment.
- Perform fault isolation and physical failure analysis; guide de-processing, SEM/FIB analysis, and material characterization to determine root causes.
- Recommend and implement changes to test, design, and manufacturing processes to improve quality and reduce cost.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and skills.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Product Engineer or in a related role performing mixed-signal circuit debugging and physical failure analysis.
- Demonstrated expertise analyzing manufacturing statistics with tools such as Klarity ACE, Galaxy Examinator, and PDF Solutions Exensio (correlation and pareto analysis).
- Demonstrated expertise in IC modeling and simulation using Cadence, Avalon, Console, and ADS.
- Demonstrated expertise in electrical evaluation and characterization using signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters and automation via Python, LabView, TestStand, or similar.
- Demonstrated expertise in failure analysis techniques (OBIRCH, EMMI, X‑Ray, thermal hotspot) and applying semiconductor device physics for root-cause determination.
- Demonstrated experience with mechanical and chemical de-processing, parallel polishing, SEM, FIB, PVC, EDX, and in-situ nanoprobing for microstructure and material analysis.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Device Physics, or a closely related technical discipline. Foreign education equivalents are accepted.
