Senior Engineer, Product Applications

Role Summary

The Senior Product Applications Engineer develops and validates analog/mixed-signal reference designs and demonstration systems, prepares customer-facing documentation and training, and provides technical application support to secure design-ins. The role collaborates with product teams, firmware/API/GUI engineers, and customers.

Partial telecommute: 2 days/week work from home.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create and present training and education materials for engineers and customers.
  • Design, build, test, and debug application boards, evaluation kits, and reference designs.
  • Develop demonstration systems to showcase product features.
  • Drive, review, and approve customer-facing collateral, documentation, and application notes.
  • Provide technical support to customers to resolve issues and secure design-ins.
  • Perform hardware, software, and system testing, measurement collection, and troubleshooting.
  • Report design, reliability, and maintenance issues to product teams and recommend corrective actions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with firmware/API/GUI teams to guide software integration.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Strong understanding of analog circuitry, DC-DC converter topologies, and control theory.
  • Demonstrated expertise with ADCs, DACs, amplifiers, analog and digital filters, I2C, SPI, microcontrollers, circuit design, or PCB layout.
  • Experience designing, debugging, and automating bench testing of PCBs and evaluation boards using oscilloscopes, power supplies, and DMMs.
  • Experience creating customer-facing collateral and application notes and facilitating resolution of customer issues.
  • Proficiency programming in one or more of: C, C#, Visual Basic, Python, MATLAB, or LabView, or familiarity with circuit simulation tools such as SPICE.
  • Proven ability to develop training materials for other engineers and customers.

Education Requirements

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field (foreign equivalent accepted) and two years of experience as an Applications Engineer or related role performing hardware, software, and system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting in the development of power, mixed-signal, or electronic products as part of a project team.
