Job Title

Senior Engineer, Process Engineering — Implant

Role Summary

Lead development, optimization, and control of implant processes in Frontend-of-line (FEOL) and Middle-of-line (MOL) to meet technology, yield, reliability, and manufacturing stability targets. Work within the process engineering organization and cross-functional teams to qualify technology, improve process performance, and support production.

Onsite role at the Malta, NY facility; standard hours Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Experience Level

Senior. Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate engineering experience as stated in the posting.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities focus on process development, control, and continuous improvement for implant technologies.

  • Develop and modify process formulations, methods, and controls for implant processes.
  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments to meet performance, yield, reliability, and manufacturability goals.
  • Create, analyze, and review technical charts and data to support decisions.
  • Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for related processes.
  • Integrate equipment and material capabilities to meet process module and technology specifications.
  • Support cross-functional teams and Quality to ensure technology meets qualification and reliability requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement plans (CIP) to improve process performance indices and line yield.
  • Operate, match, and troubleshoot implant equipment as required.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.
  • Support additional projects and assignments as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant semiconductor process engineering experience (post-baccalaureate).
  • Practical experience with statistical process control (SPC) tools for monitoring and controlling manufacturing quality.
  • Experience applying FMEA to drive line yield improvements.
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and JMP (or equivalent statistical tools).
  • Experience in tool matching and improving tool performance.
  • Hands-on experience with FEOL and MOL implant processes, including process performance, yield, and reliability considerations.
  • Experience aligning product development requirements with processing methods and production constraints.
  • Practical implant equipment operation and troubleshooting skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent) is required per the posting. The position also specifies a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate engineering experience.
