Job Title

Senior Engineer — Process Development, Photolithography (NAND)

Role Summary

The Senior Engineer performs hands-on photolithography process development for advanced NAND memory technology, driving experiments, data analysis, and yield improvement activities. The role operates within a process development team and collaborates with integration, etch, metrology, and yield engineering.

Primary focus is execution excellence: designing and running experiments, analyzing results, and translating findings into process improvements for development and early manufacturing ramps.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Requires substantial prior experience in semiconductor photolithography process development; see Education Requirements for formal experience equivalencies.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include experimental execution, data-driven analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to meet yield, quality, and performance targets.

  • Plan, execute, and troubleshoot photolithography process development and optimization tasks.
  • Design and analyze DOE, apply SPC, and perform statistical analysis to characterize process behavior and identify improvements.
  • Support material evaluations, defect learning, overlay analysis, and process window characterization.
  • Assist with integration learning during development and early manufacturing ramps.
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and learnings in technical reports and presentations.
  • Support technology transfer activities under direction of senior engineers.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights where appropriate to improve efficiency and quality, following organizational standards and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (integration, etch, metrology, yield engineering) and communicate technical results clearly.

Requirements

Core technical and behavioral requirements. Degree and formal experience equivalencies are listed under Education Requirements.

  • Deep knowledge of optics, immersion lithography, polarized illumination, and low k1 imaging.
  • Proficiency with lithography simulation tools, material characterization techniques, DOE, SPC, and basic statistical data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to process development initiatives and implement improvement plans.
  • Analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and clear technical communication.
  • Project management experience, especially in technical or technology programs.
  • Collaboration skills and openness to continuous learning.
  • Preferred: exposure to advanced lithography (193nm, 248nm, 365nm) and EUV processes; hands-on experience with photolithography equipment and metrology tools.

Education Requirements

PhD, or Master’s with ≥3 years’ relevant experience, or Bachelor’s with ≥5 years’ relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience accepted where stated.
