Role Summary
Work on ASIC/SoC physical design implementation as part of the Hyderabad engineering team. The role focuses on taking digital designs through physical implementation, timing closure, and sign-off while collaborating with RTL, verification, and EDA teams.
This position contributes to production-ready silicon delivery and cross-team design integration.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 7+ years of relevant ASIC physical design experience.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Perform physical implementation tasks: floorplanning, placement, clocking, routing, and ECOs.
- Drive static timing analysis and timing closure; resolve hold/setup violations.
- Run and maintain implementation and sign-off flows using commercial EDA tools.
- Debug layout- and timing-related issues and support silicon bring-up and tapeout activities.
- Collaborate with RTL, verification, IP, and signoff teams; participate in design reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and improve design automation and scripting.
Requirements
Key qualifications:
- Must-have: Significant hands-on experience in ASIC/SoC physical design and P&R flows.
- Must-have: Proficiency with static timing analysis and practical use of commercial EDA implementation tools.
- Must-have: Scripting skills (Tcl, Python, or Perl) and working knowledge of Linux-based automation.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with low-power design techniques, parasitic extraction, LVS, and signoff flows.
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience with Synopsys toolchain or equivalent EDA toolsets and complex SoC/IP integration.
