Job Title

Senior Engineer - NAND Cell Reliability

Role Summary

Responsible for electrical characterization, reliability assessment, and experimental design for NAND cell technologies. Work on wafer- and component-level experiments to identify failure mechanisms, validate process or trim solutions, and close reliability gaps for JEDEC and internal qualifications.

Position is on-site at Micron Fab 10N/X in Singapore and is part of a cross-functional team including process development and product engineering.

Experience Level

Senior. Title indicates a senior role; no explicit years of experience stated.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include designing experiments, analyzing data, and communicating reliability status and mitigation plans.

  • Assess NAND cell reliability risks and define process/trim/test strategies to meet JEDEC and internal qualification requirements.
  • Design experiments to identify and segment limiting reliability mechanisms.
  • Plan and execute high-volume electrical experiments at wafer and component level; perform statistical analysis to validate solutions.
  • Provide continuous feedback and status updates to process development and product teams.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps and reliability risk assessments for next-generation NAND devices.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools into workflows to improve efficiency and share AI-enabled improvements within scope of work.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and knowledge for successful performance in this role. Education requirements are listed separately below.

  • Must-have: Proven experience with NAND device structures, operations, and algorithms.
  • Must-have: Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics, electrical properties of semiconductor and insulator materials, and solid-state physics.
  • Must-have: In-depth knowledge of physics-based modeling of non-volatile memory and device failure mechanisms and reliability analysis.
  • Must-have: Experience with statistical analysis and numerical computing tools (Matlab, Octave, JMP) and ability to perform statistical validation.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with scripting/programming languages used for analysis (C, C++, Matlab, Perl).
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Big Data concepts and database query tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of JEDEC standards and qualification flows.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate high-volume experiments and present technical findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to apply role-appropriate AI literacy and use AI-enabled tools responsibly.

Education Requirements

PhD or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Microelectronics, Materials Science/Engineering, or a closely related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Working Location

Fab 10N/X, 1 North Coast Drive, Singapore 757432 (on-site).

Equal Opportunity
