Job Title

Senior Engineer, Mixed-Signal Design Engineering

Role Summary

Design and verify analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit blocks and lead their integration into larger mixed-signal systems. Work with cross-functional teams to define requirements, execute circuit designs, validate performance in simulation and lab, and drive issues to resolution.

Serve as chip lead or lead analog/digital designer on projects; guide floor planning and review physical implementation to meet performance and reliability targets. Partial telecommute benefit available (up to 2 days per week).

Experience Level

Senior. Requires at least 24 months of experience as a Mixed Signal or Electrical Engineer performing integrated circuit development (see Education Requirements for degree expectation).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include design, verification, integration, and evaluation of mixed-signal ICs.

  • Perform analog and mixed-signal circuit analysis, design, simulation, verification, and lab evaluation/debugging of ICs.
  • Drive product development lifecycle: define product/block requirements, execute circuit design, identify issues, and propose solutions.
  • Apply formal design and verification techniques, and use CADENCE/SPICE-type simulation tools to validate designs.
  • Act as chip lead or lead designer; perform chip floor planning and guide layout engineers during physical implementation.
  • Evaluate physical implementations to ensure designs meet functional, performance, power, timing, and reliability metrics.
  • Derive block-level performance targets from higher-level specifications and coordinate cross-functional project planning and timelines.
  • Drive follow-up on quality issues including customer returns, QA failures, and test coverage; prepare and present technical review documentation.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills. Quantitative experience requirements apply as noted in source posting.

  • At least 24 months' experience as a Mixed Signal or Electrical Engineer performing integrated circuit development.
  • Demonstrated expertise participating in all phases of new mixed-signal product development (architecture selection, debugging, implementation, evaluation).
  • Demonstrated expertise analyzing transistor-level circuit designs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one of: mixed-signal power IC design, RF IC design, or general-purpose analog/mixed-signal IC design.
  • Demonstrated expertise simulating and evaluating complex analog blocks and IC designs using Cadence and SPICE-type tools.
  • Experience preparing and delivering technical materials and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline (or foreign education equivalent) plus 24 months of experience as a Mixed Signal or Electrical Engineer performing integrated circuit development. Equivalent practical experience may be considered where explicitly allowed.
