The role owns wet and vapor etch processes, drives experiments and data analysis, and works with integration and partner process teams to meet yield, performance, and scaling targets.

Works cross-functionally to influence technology roadmaps, translate research into manufacturable processes, and protect intellectual property.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires about 5 years of relevant industry or graduate research experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Develop and own metals and thin‑film etch processes for advanced DRAM technologies.
  • Design and execute experiments, perform data analysis, and conduct feasibility studies to drive technical decisions.
  • Partner with integration and process teams to achieve yield, performance, and scaling goals.
  • Create and protect intellectual property related to process development.
  • Communicate results and influence technical direction with senior stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications.

Must-have:

  • Approximately 5 years of relevant experience (industry or graduate research) in semiconductor process development or related work.
  • Solid understanding of solid‑state physics, metals, surfaces, and interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with thin‑film deposition or etch tools in a lab or cleanroom environment.
  • Knowledge of chemical kinetics as applied to CVD, ALD, or PVD processes.

Nice-to-have:

  • Proficiency in data analysis, statistics, and experimental design.
  • Experience with thin‑film characterization techniques (SEM, TEM, SIMS, XPS).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and take process ownership.
  • Experience applying AI, automation, or coding to engineering or data workflows.

Education Requirements
