Senior Engineer in Product Engineering, NAND Validation
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Senior Engineer in Product Engineering, NAND Validation
Role Summary
Lead functional and design validation of advanced NAND products using both silicon and simulation platforms. The role focuses on validation flow development, silicon debug, electrical failure analysis, automation, and applying data-driven and AI/ML techniques to improve test efficiency, coverage, and debug productivity.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The role expects approximately 5β7 years of relevant professional experience in NAND validation or related semiconductor engineering roles.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include validation planning, execution, debugging, automation, and driving cross-functional closure.
- Design and execute functional and design validation flows for advanced RG NAND devices on silicon and simulation platforms.
- Develop deterministic usage-case tests and random sequence generators for NAND commands and customer-mode features.
- Perform electrical failure analysis and root-cause investigations across digital and analog circuitry; drive resolutions with cross-functional teams.
- Implement and maintain automation frameworks using C, Python, and Perl to improve test development and execution efficiency.
- Apply AI/ML-assisted techniques (data analytics, pattern recognition, anomaly detection) to accelerate failure triage, identify coverage gaps, and prioritize debug.
- Use data-driven dashboards to track validation progress, defect trends, and release readiness.
- Conduct simulation studies using Verilog and Synopsys VCS to support debug and verification.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools into daily workflows and share validated improvements within the team.
- Lead silicon debug efforts and contribute to continuous improvement of validation processes.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and behaviors for success in the role.
- 5β7 years of relevant professional experience in NAND validation or related semiconductor engineering roles; able to plan and lead projects/task forces.
- Practical NAND knowledge and hands-on validation experience on silicon.
- Experience leading silicon debug and electrical failure analysis.
- Automation development experience using C, Python, and/or Perl.
- Experience with simulation and verification tools (Verilog, Synopsys VCS).
- Applied AI/ML experience for test analytics, defect pattern analysis, or anomaly detection.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective written and verbal communication.
- Relevant validation project or internship experience in NAND or semiconductor industries preferred.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting also references relevant projects or internships in NAND validation.
