Senior Engineer II - Design

Role Summary

Senior RTL/FPGA design engineer on the FPGA Solutions team based in Hyderabad. Responsible for architecting and delivering FPGA reference designs, writing RTL, achieving timing closure, validating designs on hardware, and supporting high-speed interfaces and next-generation architecture exploration.

Senior — requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include end-to-end FPGA solution design, verification on hardware, and technical enablement for customers and field teams.

  • Architect and develop FPGA reference designs and solutions.
  • Develop RTL and IP following coding standards and quality processes.
  • Define and implement use models for next-generation FPGA architecture exploration.
  • Bring up FPGA I/O interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, transceivers) on hardware platforms.
  • Execute the FPGA design flow, set timing constraints, perform timing analysis and achieve timing closure.
  • Debug designs at RTL and hardware levels using tools and lab equipment.
  • Prepare and review customer-facing documentation and collateral.
  • Train Field Application Engineers on product capabilities and solutions.
  • Follow defined development processes, coding guidelines, and quality standards.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience; followed by desirable items.

  • Strong proficiency in Verilog RTL design.
  • Solid experience in digital logic design using FPGAs and the full FPGA design flow.
  • Strong understanding of timing analysis and timing closure techniques.
  • Proven debugging and problem-solving skills at both RTL and hardware levels.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment (protocol analyzers, clock generators, oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet, JESD204B/C, or DDR is desirable.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering; the role specifies 7+ years of relevant experience.
