Senior Engineer I - Yield Enhancement
Role Summary
Semiconductor wafer-fab device engineer responsible for product and technology yield. Owns yield limits, performs failure analysis, runs process experiments, and supports new product introductions and transfers to improve product yields and reliability.
Based in the Colorado Springs fab, 1st shift. Travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with wafer fab process, product, design, and test engineering to identify and drive yield improvements.
- Analyze production and engineering data to diagnose and resolve yield issues at parametric and wafer sort test.
- Design, coordinate, and analyze IC manufacturing process experiments and evaluate their parametric and product impact.
- Perform failure analysis using probe stations, parametric equipment, bit mappers, and microscopes to locate fabrication or circuit failures.
- Disposition maverick material at parametric test and wafer sort; maintain process change control and supporting specifications.
- Support new product introductions and transfers by creating and implementing process routes and test specifications.
- Plan and execute technical projects and communicate results to management and cross-functional teams.
Requirements
Must-have skills and knowledge:
- Understanding of semiconductor device physics and transistor characteristics.
- Familiarity with digital and analog circuit behavior and characterization.
- Working knowledge of integrated circuit wafer-fab manufacturing processes.
- Experience with test and measurement tools such as semiconductor parameter analyzers, power supplies, multimeters, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and curve tracers.
- Familiarity with statistical methods and SPC concepts (normal distributions, Cpk, ANOVA, correlation).
- Strong written and oral communication skills; able to present technical information to management and engineers.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills: define issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Physical capability to meet lab/fab requirements (able to lift ~50 lbs; sit/stand/walk per fab expectations).
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) plus 5 years relevant experience, or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) plus 2 years relevant experience.
